Tomb Raider Movie Review

Tomb Raider Directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave, Escape) Screenplay by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Sherlock, Captain Marvel) & Alastair Siddons (In The Dark Half, Trespass) Starring Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex-Machina) Dominic West (The Wire, The Forgotten) Walton Goggins (Predators, The Hateful Eight) Daniel Wu (New Police Story, Warcraft) & Kristin Scott Thomas (Only God Forgives, The English Patient.  Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father's global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he's truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even...

A Wrinkle In Time Movie Review

A Wrinkle In Time Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, 13th) Screenplay By Jennifer Lee (Frozen, Zootopia) & Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia, Children of the Machine) Based on the Novel by Madeleine L’Engle. Starring Storm Reid (Sleight, 12 Years A Slave) Oprah Winfrey (The butler, The Color Purple) Reese Witherspoon (Wild, Legally Blonde) & Mindy Kaling (The Office, Inside Out).  Following the discovery of a new form of space travel as well as Meg's father's disappearance, she, her brother, and her friend must join three magical beings - Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which - to travel across the universe to rescue him from a terrible evil. The first woman to have a budget of over 100Mil dollars for a movie. Ava DuVernay is a star what she did with Selma was magical and incredible so given the chance to adapt a book that many have said can not be delivered on the big screen is a big task. The film was marketed pretty well but it seems like the hype for it i...

Strangers: Prey At Night Movie Review

Strangers: Prey at Night Directed by Johannes Roberts (storage 24, 47 Meters Down) Original Screenplay by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers, The Monster) Starring Christina Hendricks (The NeOn Demon, Bad Santa 2) Bailee Madison (Brothers, Just go With it) Martin Henderson (Flyboys, Smoking Aces) Emma Bellomy (SmokeTown, Before the Dark) & Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, Battle of the Sexes)  A family's road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family's every limit as they struggle to survive. The first Strangers was a film that hurt me to the core and I was terrified. A movie with horrific scenes and scenarios that can happen to just anyone and that is the magic of most films. Did it need a sequel? I didn’t think so the first Strangers was a cult classic and to me one of the best horror films e...
