Black Panther Movie Review

Black Panther Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvalle Station, Creed) screenplay Written by Ryan Coogler & Joe Robert Cole (Amber Lake, White Dwarf) based on the Marvel comics by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby. Starring Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up) Michael B Jordan (Fruitvalle Station, Creed) Lupita Nyong’O (12 years a Slave, Jungle Book) Danai Gurira (The Visitor, Mother of George) Martin Freeman (Cargo, Ghost Stories) & Andy Serkis (Planet of the Apes, Star Wars the Last Jedi).

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues with Black Panther as it leads us into Infinity War this coming May. Stakes are high but one of the best things about the Marvel Universe is that with these Solo movies it’s hardly ever an origin and it is always a self contained story with elements of previous and upcoming movies to follow.  Ryan Coogler is at his best and the more and more you watch his films you can see how much better he is at his craft. With working on smaller budgets he finally gets to showcase what he can do with a big budget blockbuster and boy did he flourish. Ok so right off the bat Michael B Jordan steals this movie. He is the best villain that we have seen in this universe since Loki. The story for this film is so well written the dialogue is so pure and you can see how important each element in this film is. The action is incredible and the women in this film are used so well and kick so much ass. The world building that is done is masterful and the colors is something so majestic that the movie itself puts you in a trance. Although Michael B Jordan steals the movie don’t get me wrong every single person in this film is incredible especial Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. The glimpse we got from civil war is just a taste to what we get here. Each character gets their moment so nobody is shortchanged.

This movie is a female based movie I will say that. It’s a family movie about protecting ur family and ur people. Do not miss out on the opportunity of seeing this movie with a crowd to enhance ur experience. The movie will have you in your feelings. Character arcs and motivations will have you in tears and just the beauty of it all will show why this movie is so important. This movie is unlike any marvel movie before it. It has a clear message that resonated with today’s society while also being a marvel movie. I projected this film to make $137Mil opening weekend. After seeing it I will say this movie will make around $148Mil opening weekend. Again amazing story incredible visuals and even crazier action scenes. Marvel has done it again and yes infinity War is Next.

Final Score: 8.7/10

Glass Movie Review

“Glass” Written & Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (unbreakable, Split) Starring James McAvoy (X-Men, Split) Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Unbreakable) Sarah Paulson (Carol, 12 Years A Slave) Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch) & Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers, Django Unchained).  Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has twenty-four personalities. Unbreakable to me is an amazing movie and M. Night did have his downs and lost his touch and fan base with follow up releases. I remember sitting in the theater and the first trailer for “the visit” came on and when his name popped up as director the entire audience laughed. I will say however when I saw “the visit” I thought M. Night was getting back in form so when split hit it was truly a great movie especially the tie in at the end with David Dunn letting us know that it was connected to unbreakable. So let’s talk about the closing of the trilogy that is “Glas...

The Commuter Movie Review

The commuter Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Unknown) Story by Byron Willinger (Backward Fall, Paradise Lost) & Philip De Blasi (Command and Control, Skyscraper) Starring Liam Neesan (Taken, Unknown) Vera Farmiga (Up In the Air, The Departed) Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy, Insidious) & Johnathan Banks (Gremlins, Mudbound).  A businessman is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home. Ok I am a Liam Neesan fan I loved the first taken I thought it was great I thought he was fantastic in A Monster Calls doing the voice acting but I’m really tired of seeing the same damn thing over and over. These movies at times can be fun for the cheesiness and just being a dumb popcorn film but when it becomes boring these films become unbearable to watch. I was invested in the first 20 minutes of the film and then the film lost me. He’s been on a plane, his daughter got taken, now he’s on a train. I’m guessing a boat cruise is next. The third act of...
