12 Strong Movie Review

12 Strong Directed by Nicolai Fuglsig (Exfil, Wrath) Written by Ted Tally (All the Pretty Horses, Silence of the Lambs) Peter Craig (The Town, The Hunger Games) Based on The book (Horse Soldiers) by Doug Stanton. Starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor, BlackHat) Michael Shannon (Shape of Water, Take Shelter) Michael Pena (Ant-Man, Chips) Navid Negahban (Charlie Wilson’s War, Brothers) & Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight, Westworld).

The True Story of the Army's Special Forces "Green Berets", who within weeks responded to the 9-11 attack. Green Berets and AFSOC took over the country and allowed other Special Forces and the rest of the conventional military to begin the more publicly visible war.

When I first saw that this was a sherry Bruckheimer production I rolled my eyes because for a while now he has been involved in a lot of bad movies but they didn’t mention he was involved that much and I understood why. This movie however is very brutal when it comes to war movies and I will say again for a January movie this is pretty good. A lot of times during this time of the year we get these kinds of movies like Lone Survivor or Sniper and they turn out to be pretty good. There are a lot of lengthy shootouts in this film very well choreographed as well as a lot of explosions. The negative with this movie is that it does not have a lot of emotion like most movies have. I mean you get those generic warm moments between families but it’s not as powerful as it should be. I didn’t know anything about this story when I went to see it and so I did not know what was gonna happen and I was shocked at all the things that happened. If you want to see this movie and know nothing about it then it will def enhance ur experience if you go to the movie blind to what happens.

The cast is really well put together and they all do a great job with capturing the essence of what War is. This movie hammers you with war but it also shows you that you shouldn’t think about going into a country thinking that you are going to make a change because that country changes you. Chris Hemsworth proves in this film that he is much more than Thor that He is a great actor and it shows really well with how layered his character is and what he brings to it with his talent. I recommend this film very much.

Glass Movie Review

“Glass” Written & Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (unbreakable, Split) Starring James McAvoy (X-Men, Split) Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Unbreakable) Sarah Paulson (Carol, 12 Years A Slave) Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch) & Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers, Django Unchained).  Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has twenty-four personalities. Unbreakable to me is an amazing movie and M. Night did have his downs and lost his touch and fan base with follow up releases. I remember sitting in the theater and the first trailer for “the visit” came on and when his name popped up as director the entire audience laughed. I will say however when I saw “the visit” I thought M. Night was getting back in form so when split hit it was truly a great movie especially the tie in at the end with David Dunn letting us know that it was connected to unbreakable. So let’s talk about the closing of the trilogy that is “Glas...

The Commuter Movie Review

The commuter Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Unknown) Story by Byron Willinger (Backward Fall, Paradise Lost) & Philip De Blasi (Command and Control, Skyscraper) Starring Liam Neesan (Taken, Unknown) Vera Farmiga (Up In the Air, The Departed) Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy, Insidious) & Johnathan Banks (Gremlins, Mudbound).  A businessman is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home. Ok I am a Liam Neesan fan I loved the first taken I thought it was great I thought he was fantastic in A Monster Calls doing the voice acting but I’m really tired of seeing the same damn thing over and over. These movies at times can be fun for the cheesiness and just being a dumb popcorn film but when it becomes boring these films become unbearable to watch. I was invested in the first 20 minutes of the film and then the film lost me. He’s been on a plane, his daughter got taken, now he’s on a train. I’m guessing a boat cruise is next. The third act of...
