Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
This movie takes place 20 years after the original Halloween film and Michael Myers is back and Lauri Strode has been waiting for him to finally finish what was started. David Gordon Green did an amazing job capturing the feel of the original film making it tense and terrifying. The way that he shoots and captures Michael Myers in this film is absolutely beautiful. The fear is there the play on his shadow the motivation the way the scenes are shot. Jamie Lee Curtis was great in this film her motivation and where the character was taken was incredibly good and the reasoning behind her obsession which I was worried about was beautifully told and explained.
The supporting cast is really good especially the kill scenes and why Michael chose certain people. The shots of those scenes are really great and some are very inventive and horrifying. A lot of people are going to complain about certain kill scenes that happen off screen but I will say I appreciated those because when we get to see the brutal kill scenes they are more satisfying. I think that was clever because showing kill scenes over and over can become draining so teasing some and then showing the important ones work very well. The sound design in this movie with the kills are incredible and this film is a violent film. The John Carpenter Score is top notch and reminiscent of the original film.
Halloween gets a 8.8/10
